The decision to create Republican Diamond Manufacturing Enterprise “Gomel PO “Kristall” was made in 1970. The first Belarusian diamond was manufactured on December 27, 1972. The event was dedicated to the 50-th anniversary of the USSR formation.  And RDMUE “Gomel PO “Kristall” was included into list of operating enterprises of the country since January 1, 1973 according to order of Ministry of Industry, computer-aided facilities and control of the USSR No.354 dated 29.12.1972.

In 1996 the reconstruction of the factory was carried out. In the result some separate structural branches appeared:

  •  Branch “Factory Uvelir” (specialization – diamond manufacturing, production of gold jewelry with precious, semi-precious inserts and without inserts, production of orders and medals);
  •  Branch “Diamond Tool Factory” (specialization – manufacturing of diamond dust; diamond tools; cup-shaped, plate, flat, cutoff diamond grinding wheels; diamond cutter, diamond bars; as well as production of diamond tools according to customer’s requests)
  •  Branch “Social Administration “Almaz”, which combines the following social objects: sanatorium-preventorium, housing station, canteen.
